original Woodstock Festival's organizers planned the concert at the
Winston Farm in Saugerties; however, the town turned down their
permit. The "Woodstock" Festival was actually held almost
60 miles away at Max Yasgur's Farm in the Sullivan County town of
miles from the campground). There you can visit Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, located at the site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival. Enjoy their museum housed in a beautiful LED-certified green building set back from the top of the Woodstock festival hillside, and learn the story behind the "Sixties". Spend your day visiting one of our local wineries, distilling companies, creameries or farms. For the more energetic boating, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, paintball, horseback riding, fishing, hiking, auto racing and golf are all located at your fingertips. At night enjoy a show at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, listen to music at the Downtown Barn or Dancing Cat Saloon or enjoy a quiet dinner at one of the beautiful lake side restaurants on Lake Kauneonga or White Lake. When the day is done, come back to the campground, relax and enjoy a bonfire!
RV campers and tents are always welcomed at Swan Lake Camplands. All of the amenities listed will be available for the season. If you are interested in a seasonal, RV, tent, or Carefree Camping Site (campground equipment-we do the set-up/clean-up) or just an overnight get away, please e-mail or call us.
